Rules And Regulations
Term
The contest begins on September 7, 2010 and ends on November 7, 2010. All online entries must be received by 11:59:59pm ET on November 7, 2010. All mailed entries must be postmarked no later than November 7, 2010. Late entries are not eligible.
Eligibility
In order to participate in the "I ♥ Fashion" Sewing Contest and be eligible to win one of the prizes, the participant must be a Canadian resident, 18 years old and over and have the basic sewing skills needed to sew a garment. Participant cannot be a professional designer who earns a living by designing garments. Participant must create the garment that is the subject of the entry with no assistance from others. Garments will be judged on workmanship/skill level, level of detail, creativity and garment overall design as shown in the photographs.
Employees of Fabricville, their advertising and promotional agencies, their independent organizations and members of their respective families and people domiciling with them are not eligible.
Participation requirements
Participants must sew a garment using fabric purchased at Fabricville. Participants must:
1. Fill out entry form
2. Send a minimum of 3 photos of the garment
3. Send a proof of purchase for the fabric purchased between September 7, 2010 and November 7, 2010 shown in the entry photos
A minimum of 3 photographs and a proof of purchase must be submitted for a complete entry. Submitted photos must show a full frontal view, a full back view, and a close-up of details, lining and/or stitching. Garments must be photographed worn by a person, not on a dress form or hanger.
Participants must enter as individuals. Participants can submit multiple entries.
Fabric used for the creation of the garment entered in the contest must be purchased at Fabricville between September 7, 2010 and November 7, 2010.
How to enter
On-line: Complete an entry form at www.fabricville.com and upload a minimum of 3 photos of your garment. Choose a category in which to enter your garment. Scan and upload your proof of purchase as required. All on-line entries must be received by 11:59:59pm ET on November 7, 2010. Click the “Submit” button to officially submit your entry.
By mail: Download an entry form at www.fabricville.com or pick up a form from any Fabricville location, attach a minimum of 3 photos and your proof of purchase as required and mail it to Fabricville "I ♥ Fashion” Sewing Contest, 9195 Charles de Latour, Montreal, Quebec H4N 1M3. Entries must be postmarked no later than November 7, 2010. Mailed in photos should be no smaller than 5" X 7".
Hand delivered entries will not be accepted. Incomplete or illegible entries will be disqualified. Fabricville reserves the right to refuse and disqualify any entry for which the garment does not correspond to any of the garment categories listed on the entry form, or includes images deemed offensive or inappropriate.
Photos will be visible at www.fabricville.com within 48 hours of receipt.
Photo requirements
A minimum of 3 / maximum of 5 photos are required with the entry form.
Minimum photo requirements:
• Full frontal view
• Full back view
• Close-up of details, lining and/or stitching
Garment must be photographed worn by a person, not on a dress form or on a hanger.
Photos submitted at www.fabricville.com must be in .jpeg format and files cannot exceed 2MB. Photos should not be smaller than 5 x 7" (1500x2100 pixels). Mailed photos should be no smaller than 5" X 7" (12x17 cm).
Prizes
Six (6) prizes to be won
One (1) Grand Prize:
The Grand Prize is awarded to the overall winner of all garment categories. One Grand Prize will be bestowed.
Prize description:
The Ultimate Style Weekend in Montreal, Quebec includes:
Total Grand Prize approximate retail value of $4,000.00 is based on departure from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Actual retail prize may vary depending on city of departure. Grand Prize retail value may range from $2,700.00 to $4,500.00.
Five (5) Finalist Prizes:
The finalist prizes are awarded to the winners of each garment category. One winner per category will be named. The categories are: children and young adults (up to 12 years old); formal wear (prom, wedding, evening, cocktail); costumes (Halloween, traditional, ethnic, period); career wear (suits, dresses, jackets, blouses); and weekend wear (outerwear, sporting wear, leisure).
Prize description:
Approximate total retail value of $1,250.00.
Total approximate retail value of prizes: $10,250.00.
Prizes are not transferable, not redeemable for cash value or substituted for other items. Fabricville reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value due to prize availability.
Selection Of Winners
The contest will take place under the supervision of Fabricville. A panel of sewing experts will judge all eligible on-line and mailed in entries and select winners based on workmanship/ skill level, level of detail, creativity, and garment overall design as shown in the photographs submitted with each entry, and the information provided on the entry form. The final selection will take place at the Fabricville head office in Montreal, Quebec on January 17, 2011.
The list of winners can be obtained at www.fabricville.com and at any Fabricville store after January 24, 2011.
Announcing A Winner
Only the selected winners will be notified by email or telephone. To become a winner, the selected participant must have read and complied with the contest rules in their entirety and agree to all terms and conditions. They must affirm that they created the garment that is the subject of the entry with no assistance from others. They must confirm that all information supplied in the entry is valid and correct and confirm that the entry information and photographs submitted with this entry can be used by Fabricville to promote the "I ♥ Fashion" Sewing Contest 2010 and any future promotions without limitations and without additional compensation.
Redeeming Prize
Winners will receive their prize at a pre-determined Fabricville store location of their choice.
Grand Prize:
The deadline for claiming the Grand Prize is April 30, 2011. Travel must occur at any time between February 21, 2011 and February 21, 2012, excluding during Canadian national or provincial holidays, peak seasons, and any other blackout periods which may apply. The winner must contact Fabricville to proceed to the booking at least four (4) weeks prior to the departure date. All travel must be completed by February 21, 2012.
Finalist Prize:
